To connect students’ education to career exploration

Schools and businesses work together through the Sierra Regional Career Partnership to connect students’ education to career exploration activities in their communities. In particular, the partnership promotes the utilization of guest speakers, career fairs and business tours for students of all ages--along with job shadows, mentorships and internships for high school and college students.

The Career Partnership’s Community Learning Coordinators, based at high school and community college sites, make connections to local businesses on behalf of students and educators. Currently, more than 1,600 business partners from throughout the region are offering thousands of work-based learning opportunities to students and educators. These opportunities are posted in the Career Partnership’s Business and Student Information Center Database.
